A traders' association in Lucknow's Indira Nagar area accuses the state housing board of harassing businesses by serving sealing notices on around 1,400 commercial establishments. The matter is now in court.

The board had served a sealing notice on one Naushaba Khatoon, a resident of Indira Nagar, for carrying out commercial activity from a residential area. Thereafter, Khatoon filed a writ petition in the high court accusing the board of selectively targeting her while turning a blind eye to other commercial establishments running from residential areas.

34.72 lakh houses allotted in U.P.under PMAY-G since 2016-17: Dy CM Maurya

Uttar Pradesh has completed the construction of 29.68 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, making it the first state in India to achieve the target. The scheme aims to provide pucca houses to all homeless and dilapidated families by 2024. The houses are allotted based on the Socio-Economic Caste Census-2011, and beneficiaries receive financial assistance through the Public Financial Management System. The state has also received awards for its work under the scheme.
